The Utica Comets have released forward Brian Ward from his PTO. Ward was signed to his PTO on November 22nd as insurance with Darren Archibald, Wacey Hamilton, Brendan Woods, and Yan-Pavel Laplante all down with various injuries. Hamilton has been back skating with the team, so I would imagine that he is now available to slot back into the lineup.
Ward played in the Comets’ last game vs Bridgeport. It was the only game that he got into for the Comets. Ward had played in 17 games this season for the Adirondack Thunder of the ECHL, picking up 11 points and 23 penalty minutes.
The Comets are back in action on Wednesday at 4:00 pm Pacific vs the Syracuse Crunch. The Comets have played the Crunch just once so far this season, dropping a 3-2 decision to head coach Trent Cull’s former team.
