Cory HergottIt looks like the Utica Comets have added another defenseman on a pro try-out contract. The ECHL Transactions page revealed that 23-year-old, right shot defenseman Dylan Blujus had been loaned to the Comets by the Jacksonville IceMen. Blujus is a 6’3″, 202lbs former second-round pick, 40th overall, by the Tampa Bay Lightning in 2012.
Blujus will be known to Trent Cull, as he played for the Syracuse Crunch for the previous three seasons where Cull was an assistant coach. In 151 games with Syracuse, Blujus amassed 11 goals and 38 assists, good for 49 points, while also accumulating 67 minutes in penalties.
In Jacksonville, Blujus has one goal and six assists in 21 games this season.
The Comets are back in action today at 4:05 pm Pacific in Rochester vs the Americans. CanucksArmy will have your post-game report following the game.
