Welcome to the yearly wrap up of the top read articles over the last year!
Do you love trade talks, rumours and conversation about who could improve your favourite team? Of course you do!
Every NHL fan loves these sort of discussions.
In October, a week after free agency opened up, there were a number of good players available. CanucksArmy writer Stephan Roget highlighted some of the top players available and that piece was the 18th most-read article this year.
There were a number of players Roget suggested in free agency: Mikael Granlund, Mike Hoffman, Evgenii Dadonov, Anthony Duclair, Andreas Athanasiou, Conor Sheary, and Josh Leivo.
Of those, Granlund, Hoffman, Duclair, Athanasiou and Sheary are all still unsigned. The first two are rather surprising given their abilities as top nine forwards, while Leivo signed with the Calgary Flames.
Here are a few players, all still with their respective clubs, Roget identified on the trade market: Kyle Palmieri, Ondrej Palat, Jack Roslovic and Jake DeBrusk.
Not only that, but Roget suggested maybe Anthony Mantha could be offer sheeted.
Here’s what else he had to say:
Ideally, GM Jim Benning and Co. will be looking for someone to replace Tyler Toffoli after choosing to part ways with him this offseason. With Tanner Pearson only signed for another year, however, the Canucks could honestly use a top-six-quality talent on either wing, so we’ve gathered a list of both lefties and righties that the team could target before the 2020/21 season kicks off, if they act as quickly as they did last time.
