Lots of chatter was going around ahead of free agency and the draft.
And on Sept. 22, CanucksArmy writer Faber wrapped up some notes on Jacob Markstrom, Tyler Toffoli and Chris Tanev.

On Markstrom, Faber noted an Elliotte Freidman report that negotiations with Jacob Markstrom were “really challenging negotiation(s).”
On Toffoli, he sited a Satiar Shah report that he felt the club would be able to get a deal done with Tyler Toffoli.
And last, on Chris Tanev, the Pittsburgh Penguins were interested in his services.
Both Markstrom and Tanev landed with the Calgary Flames, while Toffoli signed with the Montreal Canadiens.
