The Vancouver Canucks will be streaming tonight’s preseason match against the Seattle Kraken. Puck drop is set for 7 PM from the Abbotsford Centre, as the Canucks are bringing NHL preseason action to their fans out in the Fraser Valley and beyond!
Tonight’s game won’t be televised, but the Canucks are going to be streaming the game on their website (canucks.com). The team tried to stream last Thursday’s game against, but ran into trouble thanks to the game taking place outside of Canada. Thankfully, they’ve streamed games from the Abbotsford Centre before, so there shouldn’t be any issues tonight! Sportsnet 650’s Brendan Batchelor and Dan Riccio will have the call for tonight’s game!
After tonight’s game, the Canucks will have just one more preseason matchup before their home and season opener against the Edmonton Oilers on Wednesday, October 11th — ie. a week from today!
The Canucks were expected to ice a lineup that is extremely close to what their opening night lineup will look like, as Rick Tocchet and the coaching staff elected to make their cuts early in order to get their regular NHL squad as much preparation as possible. That being said, Elias Pettersson missed both Monday and Tuesday’s practices with an illness, and Tocchet revealed yesterday that the Canucks will be without their first line centre for tonight’s game. Here is the lineup we were expecting to see tonight based on yesterday’s practice:

The Canucks announced the following recalls this morning, which might mean there are more AHL regulars in the lineup than originally expected.

Additionally, Abbotsford Canucks training camp opened today out in Chilliwack, and the Canucks released their full roster for that camp yesterday. Headlined by names like Vasily Podkolzin, Aidan McDonough, and Akito Hirose, the baby Nucks will be looking to build off of where they left off last season when the Calgary Wranglers eliminated them in the second round of the Calder Cup Playoffs.
