The Canucks finished the final three games of their relatively successful road trip with a 1-1-1 record with some interesting moments along the way. This week’s power rankings include a franchise record, Mike Zalewski, some good Sbisa stats, and more!
1. Daniel Sedin:
Daniel Sedin is now the Canucks all-time leading goal-scorer. Sadly, Henrik was not there to assist this milestone, but it did come as a result of a Brad Marchand giveaway. Which is just as good as a Henrik assist, right?
2. Ryan Miller:
Ryan Miller went 0-1-1 this week but I look at the number of shots he faced and I feel so bad for him that he gets to be #2.
3. Jacob Markstrom:
Markstrom, like Miller, has to deal with more than his fair share of chaos. He handled this chaos very nicely in Boston:
4. Bo Horvat:
While Daniel Sedin was breaking records, Horvat was busy breaking ankles.
5. Jannik Hansen:
Jannik Hansen scored his second career hat trick this week, but it came in a loss and it was overshadowed by Evgeni Malkin’s tenth career hat trick. Sorry, Jannik.
6. Sven Baertschi:
Sven scored his ninth of the season in on Tuukka Rask, who did not poke the Baer.
7. Jake Virtanen:
Brandon Prust’s role as a Canuck might just be the latest victim of Jake Virtanen’s murderous tendencies.
8. Jared McCann:
Some say that Jared McCann isn’t getting enough ice time but look at this:
9. Radim Vrbata:
Everything that Radim Vrbata does is now connected to trade rumours. Sorry, Radim. You’re doing well.

10. Alex Burrows:
Alex Burrows scored in New York this week. More importantly, Alex burrows also scored in Boston this week!
11. Chris Tanev:
Chris Tanev, known offensive ace, assisted on one of the biggest goals in Daniel Sedin’s career. More notably, he was wonderfully mocked by the boards at the TD Garden:
12. Emerson Etem:
Emerson Etem got his first point as a Canuck this week!
13. Ben Hutton:
Ben Hutton sadly did not score his second career goal this week, but look at what he did to Luca Sbisa:
14. Alex Edler:
With Hamhuis and Henrik out, Alex Edler is wearing the A and seems to be really inspiring his teammates to follow his lead:
15. Linden Vey:
It is not fair to focus on one mistake because Linden Vey had a pretty nice week overall. But still, wow:
16. Mike Zalewski:
Mike Zalewski signed a two-way deal with the Canucks this week and was immediately called up to the big club. He was reassigned to the Comets today, but he did well. Go Mike!
17. Derek Dorsett:
Judging Derek Dorsett is hard. He’s not good, but he’s also not Brandon Prust. Overall, Dorsett was not terrible this week.

18. Alex Biega:
Biega is not the best defenseman on this Canucks team, but he might be the best story, so there’s that.
19. Luca Sbisa:
He’s back and he’s still Luca.
20. Matt Bartkowski:
Like a life raft, Bartkowski is very good at floating. Unlike a life raft, I don’t think Matt Bartkowski has ever saved anyone at sea. Who knows for sure, though?
21. Adam Cracknell:
Adam Cracknell has, for the time being, lost his spot to Mike Zalewski.
22. Brandon Sutter, Dan Hamhuis, Yannick Weber, and Henrik Sedin:
None of these players played this week. Brandon Sutter looked like he was going to, but he didn’t.
23. Brandon Prust:
Brandon Prust was not supposed to play against the Rangers but word is, he talked himself into the lineup. This is how it went:
