The Washington Capitals are in town to take on the protagonist Vancouver Canucks, who are 8-2-0 in their last ten games.
The Canucks are right there in the playoff race, but the only way they’re going to make it is if they continue to win a whole bunch of games and keep the losses few and far between.
Lineup
Here’s how the Canucks are anticipated to line up tonight against Washington.

Unsurprisingly, Thatcher Demko will start in goal for the Canucks.
What was said
The last time the Canucks and Capitals played each other, Alex Ovechkin found the back of the net and looked at Canucks head coach Bruce Boudreau after he scored the goal. “He looked at me and I said ‘no more!’,” recalled Boudreau.
In the Capitals’ 5-4 victory over the Calgary Flames on Tuesday, Ovechkin tied Jaromir Jagr for third-most goals all-time with 766. That means, had he scored in the Capitals’ game against the Edmonton Oilers on Wednesday night, Ovechkin would have gained sole possession of third.
He didn’t, and now he has a chance to do it against his former coach, who Ovechkin loves to score against.
Here’s what Boudreau had to say:

Boudreau saying “I was really hoping he’d score last night,” is all you need to know.
Puck drop is at 7 PM from Rogers Arena tonight.
