THE INTRO
The Canucks get right back at it after getting SMOKED by the Dallas Stars two nights ago. Nashville has lost three straight and are playing the same kind of hockey the Canucks are so maybe this will be an evenly matched game?
Bo Horvat needs to be on the ice a whole lot less going forward or he’ll suffer the same fate as Alex Edler and Chris Tanev via the injury route. The Canucks are in a funk right now but all it takes is one game to turn it around. Tonight can be that game.

WHAT ARE THE ODDS?

LINEUPS
Is Zack MacEwen still up? He needs to play. Loui Eriksson hasn’t even been seen on a milk carton he’s been so invisible. The woes continue for Bo Horvat but it feels like he’s due to bump his massive slump and go #beastmode against the Predators de Nashville.
Jacob Markstrom needs to get the start to redeem himself. He’s the #1 and deserves the nod. He needs a bounce-back game as does the rest of his team.

Pekka Rinne should be the starter tonight. He’s good. Has a Vezina. That’s good too!

GAME NOTES AND A STAT OR TWO
- Vancouver and Nashville are struggling but the Predators don’t have a lot of pucks going in. Only five players have scored for Nashville in their last three games combined with Roman Josi potting two of their six goals. Vancouver has eight goal-scorers in that same time with one more game to speak of. Adam Gaudette, Tanner Pearson, and Elias Pettersson all had multiple goals in that time.
- He can’t be held back. Elias Pettersson is still getting it done. It hasn’t been exciting but he’s just outside the top-10 in scoring and three points away from 7th with 28 points.
- The Canucks special teams have indeed been special. The PK is just outside the top-10 while the PP is just inside. Nashville has the 9th worst PK in the NHL and this could be the Canucks calling to strike.
- Jacob Markstrom is still looking for that first win after the passing of his father. He’s due for a big game, something that gets him back in the conversation. His SV% is slipping down to .906 but that stinker against Dallas will contribute to that number. He’ll be fine.
- Has the allure of Quinn Hughes faded? He’s taken a step back in the rookie race and is nine points back of eventual winner Cale Makar. Quinn Hughes needs a big game as much as his veteran teammates do.

MY 94 CENTS
I truly believe the Canucks will bounce out of this funk they’re in. They’re not as bad as they’ve shown and they also aren’t as good as they were to start the season. This is a playoff team but Travis Green needs to get everyone’s ice time at an appropriate level. One thing is for sure: they need to turn up the good and turn down the suck.
