Canucks Army Prospect Report – December 3rd, 2014
alt
Josh W
By Josh W
Dec 3, 2014, 14:23 ESTUpdated:
It is now December, and for many of the Vancouver Canucks prospects their
teams are close to reaching the halfway point on their season.  With December that means the World Junior
Championships are just around the corner and we start our yearly Prospect
Invitee Watch, though it looks like there will only be four prospects, at most, invited to various teams.
To see how Vancouver’s prospects have performed this week, continue
past the jump.

  • Cole Cassels did not play a game this week due to
    his suspension.
    (Check out a video
    breakdown
here)Cassels is 9th in OHL scoring and will likely continue to
fall in the standings without any playing time.
    He was not invited
to the Canadian World Junior Championship (WJC) camp and will not be on
the team.  Participating with the USA
    is still a possibility
(though slim) as he has been invited to the US WJC Camp.  Bob McKenzie had this interesting tidbit on Cassels’ suspension:
Cassels was recently suspended by the OHL for 10 games, which would make
him ineligible to play in Team USA’s first two games, but there has
been talk of the OHL reducing his suspension to permit him to start the
tourney, assuming he makes the team.
  • Jared McCann played in 3 games scoring 2 assists
    and earned a +1.
  • Jordan Subban played in 3 games and scored 1
goal to go along side his -6 and 4 PIM.
He is currently T-2nd in OHL Defencemen scoring, with Anthony
DeAngelo having jumped to first place (with five less games played).
  • Evan McEneny played in 3 games and earned 4
PIM.  For what it is worth, McEneny is
    T-20th in OHL defencemen scoring.
  • Sniper Kyle Petit has played in 3 games scoring
2 goals and earning 4 PIM.
  • Miles Liberati, the phantom menace, played in 3
    games earning 2 PIM.

  • Jake Virtanen played in 3 games, including a 9-5 win in which he earned zero points, scoring 2 goals,
1 assist, earning a +1 and 6 PIM.  He is the
    only Canadian Canucks
prospect to be invited to the WJC camp and has a good chance
    to make the team.
  • MacKenze Stewart played in 2 games and scored an
    assist alongside a +2 and 7 PIM.
  • Anton Cederholm played in 2 games, earning a +3
    and 4 PIM.
