CANUCKS ARMY GDT# 75 – CANUCKS VS. BLACKHAWKS

By Always90four
Mar 27, 2016, 14:28 EDTUpdated:

For the final time this season, the Canucks and Blackhawks will face off in an original Smythe division matchup at the Rog. Two teams going in very different directions, one that couldn’t buy a goal and the other who has paid five guys to score a ton until they retire.
The Canucks have a pretty big game ahead of them and I wouldn’t count them out. Chicago hasn’t exactly been stellar lately but a win keeps them near the top of the conference and helps them clinch a berth into the Hockey Trophy Playdowns!!! The Hawks got a big win in Calgary last night so they’ll be out for the kill. Jokes on them, you can’t kill something that’s dead.

It will be a physical game so if Jared McCann wasn’t playing, it’s not a surprise. Nikita Tryamkin will get his first taste of the Blackhawks and I wouldn’t mind a “man shove’ like he did last game. Henrik and Daniel Sedin will have their hands full as well but Jannik Hansen being back could help them out. Alex Burrows gets another shot to sell his worth going into next year, Chicago brings out the Burr in Burrows.
Ryan Miller is the probable starter tonight. He could use some goal support.

Marcus Kruger played last night in Calgary after being out 41 games with a wrist injury, he’s obviously playing today. Andrew Ladd had 2 goals and 1 assist last night; maybe make a mental note of what he could do today. Patrick Kane will probably win the points race and is hot on the heels of Ovechkin for the Rocket Richard; he’s had an eventful year.
Scott Darling had the win last night and is slated to get the start again today; winning who knew?.

REASONS TO WATCH THIS GAME
- Having the Canucks and Blackhawks in the Sunday night Hometown Hockey showcase is a big reason to watch this game. Sure, Vancouver is done this year but playing minor spoilers to where the Hawks will finish may be fun.
- Well, they’re back to not scoring again so if a Canuck were to score tonight, we’d all have something to discuss tomorrow morning. Are people still discussing the Canucks the next day? I mean, if it has nothing to do with the Matthews talk? Canucks first goal tonight will come off the stick of Alex Burrows.
- Patrick Kane is in the midst of an MVP-type campaign. He’s buried the Canucks all on his own so watch out for #88.
- OH YA! We have an 88 too! He’s also about 3 feet taller than Kane; who wouldn’t tune in to see Tryamkin rag doll Kaner around? I would.
- Daniel Sedin has had success against the Hawks, scoring a hatty earlier this year. Might we see one more Sedin display of talent this year? Im hoping so.
WHAT THEY’RE SAYING

This is actually what we’re all saying
MY TAKE
I’m betting on a Canucks win. Call me crazy but don’t you think Vancouver is due for something odd to happen? It is the Blackhawks after all and I just have this feeling they make a game of it. Canucks in OT.
WHAT’D I MISS?
Endure the pain a little longer people, Thatch is gonna save us…and this puck.
