LINE COMBOS
No changes to this mornings lineup. McCann getting comfy with Daniel and Jannik, the Horvat line is redonkulous and Willie has started the youth movement. Would sure be interesting to see an all Tigers line at some point today, even just for a shift; I’m sure Burrows wouldn’t mind a whole lot.
Ryan Miller gets the final start of the road trip. We gots ourselves some goal tending folks!

Despite the jokes we make that the Penguins are washed up, is anyone actually saying that, this Pens group has much talent. Sidney Crosby is still flanked by Kunitz and Hornqvist is there too! Evgeni Malkin isn’t to be taken lightly either and Phil Kessel is coming off a 2 goal performance. We might have ourselves a game here.
Jeff Zatkoff may start as the Penguins play Washington tomorrow and Marc Andre Fleury should play that game instead.

REASONS TO WAKE UP AND WATCH THIS GAME
  • The Canucks have managed to surprise us all and pretend to be a good team on this road trip. Going into today’s game Vancouver is 3-1-1 and so many great things have occurred. Daniel Sedin got his record breaking goal against the Bruins, Alex Burrows scored some beauties, we all want Sven Baertschi and Bo Horvat jerseys and Ryan Miller released his Skate jersey night goalie equipment. It’s been a good trip.
  • We don’t get to see Crosby and Malkin very much…East coast thing, but we know how dominating they can be; this Canucks lineup is pretty young though and that feisty piss and vinegar attitude might win us a few more games than we thought. Watch out SID, we’re the kids now.
  • I won’t be shutting up about this anytime soon but how great is Bo Horvat in January? Pretty good. Against Boston he had 1A, a 58.82 FO% and a PDO of 105.6!! (5v5 all situations) On the month his PDO is a solid 104.6 which has risen faster than ….you know what, it’s early; we don’t need to go there.
  • Ryan Miller is getting the start and his Low to Medium Danger zone Save Percentage is pretty good, clocking in at a .965. His high danger % is not good so lets keep those perimeter shots coming, goal line scrambles…um oh crap, our D sucks.
  • A win today puts the Nucks in a tie for 6th in the West. There will be no tank.
WHAT THEY’RE SAYING
Remember when Prust did that? Ya, not a good tactic. I KNOW THAT’S THE JOKE…LEAVE ME ALONE ITS EARLY!!!
MY TAKE
Well, the Canucks ARE playing well so I believe they can win today. I predict Virtanen has a good game and the Bo/Bae/Vrbs line does too! Canucks in OT though.
WHAT’D I MISS?
In case you wanted to know what the next guy we will get excited about in Vancouver is doing.
