CANUCKS ARMY GDT# 48 – CANUCKS @ BRUINS

By Always90four
Jan 21, 2016, 15:32 ESTUpdated:

The last time the Canucks played the Bruins, I think it was the notorious #must game. They lost 4-buzz and it looked like one of the worst games the Canucks have ever played. Vancouver has given up more shots in the last week than a drunk bartender trying to make new friends. This one’s in bean town tonight and the Canucks could use a boost from the bullies that robbed them of their rightful 2011 crown. OK, last time I swear.

It’s no secret that Brandon Prust has probably played his last game as a Canuck – wonder if he likes Tampa? No big changes but Matt Zalewski may slot in; Derek Dorsett might be a good idea to sub out. He really has not been good overall this year and that giveaway last game made it perfectly clear not every Medicine Hat Tiger is perfect.
Ryan Miller COULD start, but if Willie had any sense to rest his #1 goalie Jacob Markstrom would be the guy. But I just write this thing.

David Krejci (Upper body) is day-to-day but why risk it against the Canucks? The Nose faced Killer will once again have his home crowd behind him when he attempts something stupid and probably targets Daniel Sedin or a small puppy. There’s a few Miller’s in the lineup so if Ryan Miller starts, you know where I’m going with this.
Rahzar’s counterpart, Tuuka (Rask) should start for the B’s. It would be nice if they wore those Winter Classic unis, they’re nice. Sadly, the Bruins aren’t.

REASONS TO WATCH THIS GAME
- I’m starting with the storyline we’ve all beaten to death… Prust is on his way out. Oh, you thought I meant Bruins/Canucks SCF game whatever (game 14, if you’re unsure). The young kids are taking over and we are getting our rebuild.
- Bo Horvat and Sven Baertschi have been rolling in the deep lately. These two don’t need to be told what to do, they just do it. If we find out Bo has ANY kind of mean streak in him and levels Marchand… or even better, VIRTANEN does it; that’s key to the city kind of heroism.
- Daniel is still waiting on that record so obviously scoring on Boston makes for a good headline and 1040 radio fodder.
- I like seeing shots back and forth but seriously, the Canucks need to amp up some defense. This is getting ridiculous and goals will definitely start hitting the net if they don’t watch out. Work on keeping possession a bit more maybe, just a thought.
- We all love to rag on the intermissions so let’s look for the Tom Brady references tonight. Has to be at least one and that’s worth a drink or two.
- BUCK THE FRUINS!
WHAT THEY’RE SAYING
Aside from the similar colors, nothing to do with this game but how do you not get excited for this?
MY TAKE
Beat the Bruins. Stab them with a broken stick, chokeslam Marchand, put him through the glass. No mercy for these punks. Time for the new kids to step up and get involved in the history of this franchise. Nucks win, Nucks win, Nucks win!
WHAT’D I MISS?
Oh right. A bit of extra pre-game reading. This may further anger you about Willie’s decisions in game but here it is regardless:
