Welcome back to Betway Bets of the Day brought to you by NHL betting odds site Betway!
Wednesday night’s clash with the St. Louis Blues has officially been renamed the Pius Sutter game, as the Canucks forward scored all three Vancouver goals in the third period to rally the team back from two third period two-goal deficits. Ultimately, St. Louis’ Brayden Schenn won the game in overtime for the Blues, but despite the loss, the Canucks extended their point streak to ten games.
Next up for Vancouver is their last game before the all star break against the Columbus Blue Jackets. Here are three bets I like for tonight’s game.
Player Prop
Boeser has gone six straight without finding the back of the net and has never scored against Columbus in his career, thus why I think this is a perfect spot for him to kill two streaks at once.
Take this play at .8 units.
Player Prop
Ilya Mikheyev to register over 1.5 shots at -167. My $10 bet would return $16.
Yes, we’re rolling with this play again. Mikheyev has now hit his over 1.5 in eight of his last ten games and cashed us out in the Canucks’ last game. Mikheyev has also hit his over 1.5 in three of his last four games against the Jackets.
Take this play also at .8 units.
Pre-Build Bets
Vancouver to win money-line and Elias Pettersson to score a point at -150. My $12.50 bet would return $20.83.
The books are starting to be big on the Canucks as they have Vancouver as high as -300 favourites on the money-line. You know how we do it, we add a Pettersson point as a “juice reducer” and get them at playable odds.
At -150 here I like this as a full unit ride.
Last Game Bets
Sam Reinhart to score anytime at +130. My $10 bet would return $23. – HIT
Alex Barkov to register over 2.5 shots at -118. My $10 bet would return $18.50. – MISSED
Colorado to win money-line at -140. My $12.50 bet would return $21.42. – HIT
Barkov was credited with a shot in OT that they took away, which is what costed us a perfect night. We staked $32.50 and returned $44.42. We are now up $139.75 on the year.
