Betway Bets of the Day: Bet on the Canucks’ power-play against Columbus

Welcome back to Betway Bets of the Day brought to you by NHL betting odds site Betway!
The Canucks flexed their defensive muscles on Saturday, taking home a 1-0 win over the Buffalo Sabres to win their fifth straight game. Sam Lafferty scored the game’s lone goal, and Thacher Demko shone between the pipes, making 26 saves to earn first-start honours.
Next up for the Canucks is a super rare early afternoon game agains the Columbus Blue Jackets. Here are three bets I like for today’s game.
Player Prop
Mikheyev has been snakebit of late, and has not scored in his last 10 games but that can’t be attributed to his lack of shot volume. The Canucks forward has registered over 1.5 shots in six of his last eight games. I like this trend to continue against a Columbus team that’s bottom three in shots against.
Take this play at a full unit.
Pre-Built Bets
Vancouver to score a power-play goal at -150. My $12.50 bet would return $20.83.
The only part of the Canucks game that hasn’t been firing on all cylinders of late is the power play, which can maybe be correlated to a lack of opportunities during this road trip. This is a perfect spot for that to change, as Columbus takes the seventh-most penalties in the league and have a below average penalty-kill.
I like this play a lot and will take it also at a full unit.
Pre-Built Bets
Vancouver to win money-line and Elias Pettersson to score a point at -134. My $10 bet would return $17.50.
Vancouver has won five straight, and Columbus has lost four of their last five games. I like the Canucks again tonight, but they’re -200 on the money line; adding a Pettersson point as a “juice reducer” makes this a much more palatable play.
Pettersson has scored a point in nine of Vancouver’s last ten wins. Take this play at .8 units.
Last Game Bets
Elias Pettersson to register over 2.5 shots at -167. My $12.50 bet would return $20. – MISSED
JJ Peterka to register over 2.5 shots at -110. My $10 bet would return $21. – MISSED
Andrei Kuzmenko to score anytime at +225. My $10 bet would return $22.50. – MISSED
Pettersson and Peter ended with two shots each, and our Jekyll and Hyde run continued as we missed on all our picks. We are now up $162.80 on the season.
