Babych Please – September 1st, 2017

It’s September, which means it’s almost time for prospect tournaments, training camps and preseason hockey! But first, let’s check in on Nikolay Goldobin’s Twitter account.
- Goldobin took to Twitter this week to ask about the weather in Vancouver, which is always a valid thing to ask about. It’s still sunny as of Friday morning, Nikolay.
- Also, Goldobin made this weird horse thing earlier this month and I’m obsessed with it. The nostrils look like eyes.
- Wholesome young man Brock Boeser was flattered by his NHL17 rating. He is everything this fanbase could ever want in a son.
- Fellow Canucks prospect Adam Gaudette is playing the foil:
- Sven Baertschi, Jacob Markstrom, and Erik Gudbranson headed up to Haida Gwaii this week to participate in Canucks Autism Network’s 2017 Fishing for Kids event. My favourite photo from this event is this one of Jacob Markstrom – he’s always looking like an Amazing Race participant more than a hockey player.

- Goaltender Troy Stecher and his Yotes FC teammates are league champions – the Canucks dman was mic’d up during one of his summer league soccer games. I hope he also refers to his Canucks teammates as “lads”.
Multi-sport athlete? @TroyStecher is mic'd up as his men's league soccer team looks to advance in the playoffs.
