It won’t technically begin for the Canucks until tomorrow, but the NHL regular season has begun! In the meantime, the Canucks have a newbie, a rookie, and some gifs to make.
- The Canucks acquired Derrick Pouliot this week. Six years ago, he tweeted about how he didn’t love Vancouver’s rain. I’m sorry, Derrick.
- Brock Boeser is still blogging! In his latest entry, he discusses whales and our favourite Canuck, Phoebe Stecher. Read it here.
- Speaking of Boeser, this tweet totally makes it look like he died. He didn’t die, he just made the team and is excited about it. I have no idea why they worded it like this.
Rest easy @BBoeser16, it's almost go time.
- To prepare for the season of fun that’s ahead, the Canucks recorded footage to be used for gifs. Ben Hutton is dancing, Brandon Sutter is juggling, and a lot of other wild stuff is happening!
Give us a green screen and #Canucks to film gifs with and we will not disappoint. 😂

- Troy Stecher had to shorten his nice signature because it took too long to write. This is tragic but fair. The first one looks more like “Penny Sweater” than “Troy Stecher” anyway.
Left: @troystecher circa 2016. Right: @troystecher circa 2017. "I shortened it this summer when I had a box of 500 cards to sign!"
- Finally, here is a good hockey gif.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
