With the roster almost set for opening night, there are a lot of fresh faces on the Canucks. Read past the jump to get more acquainted with the young blood (literally, in Jake Virtanen’s case).  
  • Calendar cover boy Bo Horvat has lost all of his rookie bashfulness. Here we see him take aim at Captain Henrik Sedin’s slow skating. Bold, Bo. Bold.

  • Virtanen also featured in a Prospects Edition of King of the Rink. Jake knows how to impress his new city and wishes for the most environmentally friendly superpower. 
  • If Ben Hutton’s play is consistent as his goofy smile, he will be an NHLer for a very long time

  • Jared McCann’s parents are the chillest people in the world. Their son texted them about making the Canucks roster and they basically replied with “Who is this?” and “K cool”:
Jared McCann didn’t get much reaction from his father when he called to tell him the big news this morning.
“My parents are on vacation right now,” said McCann, “so they were
like ‘who is this??’ My dad’s not a very emotional guy, he was like ‘oh,
okay, good luck.’”
