The Canucks did not hire Mike Babcock and did not win any playoff games in OT this week, but Nick Bonino did almost trip over a carpet.
- Dan Hamhuis and Team Canada took home gold at the IIHF World Championships! Watch the video of their celebrations here. Hamhuis’ elation was muted, but his attempt to head-nod along to Kendrick Lamar is pretty adorable. The show was stolen by Ryan O’Reilly and Nathan Mackinnon doing this:


- Watch this adorably articulate child discuss his day with the Canucks! After practicing with the team, Alex was given the puck that Henrik Sedin used to tally his 700th assist. This turns out to be a selfish move on Henrik’s part, as he is trying to dethrone Daniel and become Alex’s favourite Sedin, but the gesture was still pretty cool.
- Nick Bonino won a bronze medal at the World Championships this week and was named player of the game with a goal, an assist, and a stumble. Keep it together, Nick.

- Jake Virtanen made his pro debut for the Utica Comets this weekend. The team won game 7 and will meet the Grand Rapids Griffins in the third round. Virtanen also did this to an OKC Baron. May that OKC Baron rest in peace.
- Revisiting this academic analysis of the Sedins’ leadership has brought back this wonderful nickname. I hope that this has been carried over from Sweden as used by the team as the Sedins’ Official Animal Nickname.

- Eddie Lack’s father joined Twitter and shared this nice photo of a gawky young Eddie beside a worrying copy of a Screech Owls novel.
