It has not been a particularly fun week in Canuckland. The media is fighting with itself, the Sedins are looking 36 years old, and the team is losing games. In the spirit of sadness, let’s check in with Alex Burrows, Jannik Hansen, and the celebration gifs the Canucks haven’t had a chance to use.
  • Alex Burrows and the Players Tribune teamed up to say some words about his time as a Canuck. It’s a nicely written little piece and it gets a little emotional at times. Burrows loved his time as a Canuck and it’s hard to read this without getting a bit emotional. Also, his daughter is going to love Spartacat.
  • I know essentially nothing about Markus Granlund, so the latest King of the Rink was illuminating. His nickname is Granimal, he hates Sven Baertschi’s living habits, and Ben Hutton thinks he looks like a zombie.
  • If you read my Power Rankings, you’ve seen these photos of Phoebe Stecher, the best thing that’s happened to the Canucks this season. If you have any soul, you won’t mind seeing them again. She is perfect. 
  • It was Jannik Hansen’s birthday this week, and the San Jose Sharks made him a fun little birthday image. He looks confused but I think he is doing okay.
  • Brandon and Giselle Sutter got to hang out with Eric Church this week and gave him a jersey! David Booth would definitely wear this.
  • The Canucks have started tweeting fun gifs of players every time someone tweets them about getting season tickets. I think these gifs were supposed to be used for goals throughout the year, but the opportunity never arose.
  • Michael Chaput was mic’d up last week and he actually is a pretty chatty guy. There are a few [bleeps], some smelling salt action, and a little bit of Green Day.
  • Finally, a Canucks fan proposed to her boyfriend at last night’s Canucks game. She teamed up with the Canucks to ask the big question via a fake in-game contest. The best part is that she proposes with a bouquet of Doritos. Better than any ring.
