The Canucks had a good week both on and off the ice! The team was dabbing, playing with condoms, and kissing helmets, but the show was stolen by their adorable, chatty mothers.
  • The Canucks took their mothers on the road with them and it looked like a blast. Before anything, you have to listen to Beth Bartkowski’s interview with Dan Murphy after her son scored a goal for her in Denver:
  • And now, this fun video that sums up the entire trip. Ben Hutton continues to be a fun guy, taking a tongue-out selfie with a Broncos fan. He is also interviewed by his mother Janet [who also did a practice report for Canucks TV] and gives her a big kiss at the end, much to her dismay. The moms are a blast:
The best part is, of course, Matt Bartkowski seeing Beth’s interview:

  • Beth Bartkowski also did a radio interview with TSN 1040 and it is even better than the one you just watched. She tells a story about not recognizing Jim Benning while he ate sushi, talks about her son’s girlfriend’s prom date (it was not Matt), and seems to have some beef with Jared McCann. Beth also appears to have a crush on Trevor Linden and loves those Canucks who look alike. And there’s a thing about Canadian Geese. She is lovely and the interview is well worth listening to.
  • Behind the Lens returned for the trip. The full galleries are up on Canucks.com but here are some highlights. First, a group of absolutely shocked Canucks probably look at the team’s fancy stats.
A rather threatening Daniel Sedin:
This photo of mama Benning, which came with the caption:
“I picked my mom up from the airport,” explained GM Jim Benning, “and she asked me to explain why we haven’t been winning. I was like, it’s nice to see you too mom.”
And this one, featuring the ever-sleepy Alex Edler and Radim Vrbata’s amazing socks:
  • It’s a little out of date now, because the Super Bowl is over and the dabbing team lost, but the Canucks Super Bowl Predictions video is very fun. Burrows’ Peyton Manning impression is a lot of fun but has nothing on Sven Baertschi’s. Bo Horvat’s dab is the worst and Sven’s is the best, but Sbisa’s enthusiasm steals the show. Jared McCann’s voice is not as good as Beyoncé’s voice and Sbisa’s refusal to sing Viva La Vida ruined my week.
  • And finally, Jared McCann likes to kiss his goalies.
