Notes

• Saturday is once again the busiest day for Canucks related hockey, though the Canucks themselves have a day off. Both affiliates, as well as 12 other Canucks prospects. Only Olli Juolevi and Anton Cederholm aren’t playing.
• Tate Olson and Jakob Stukel are tied for the most games of the week, as both are scheduled to play 4 times.
• A couple of players missed games late this week, including Will Lockwood (injury) and Thatcher Demko (illness). Lockwood is still considered week-to-week, while Demko is considered day-to-day.

Games to Watch

• Tuesday, 7:00pm PST: On Tuesday night, Canucks prospect Tate Olson and the Prince George Cougars will take on the Portland Winterhawks, whose top draft eligible prospect at this point is likely Cody Glass, a centreman who is moving his way up the rankings, currently averaging a spot in the late first round. They also have defenceman Henri Jokiharju, who projects to go some time in the second round. Olson’s new teammate, Nikita Popugayev, was acquired at the WHL trade deadline and is also eligible this year, looking like a mid-to-late first round prospect.
• Friday, 4:30pm PST: Top defensive prospect Olli Juolevi and the London Knights take on the Ottawa 67’s on Friday night. While the 67’s don’t have any top flight prospects this year, they do have a couple of potential second rounders in centre Alexander Chmelevski and defenceman Noel Hoefenmayer. Also of note is Juolevi’s freqyent defensive partner, Evan Bouchard, who looks to be a top flight prospect for the 2018 NHL draft.
• Saturday, 3:00pm PST – Interprospect Battle: Dmitry Zhukenov’s Chicoutimi Sagueneens and Rodrigo Abols’ Acadie-Bathurst Titan will battle on Saturday. While both teams were among the worst in the QMJHL for the past couple of years, they’ve both worked their way back up to the middle of pack, which has made them considerably more palatable to watch.
