Vancouver Canucks make Elias Pettersson, Quinn Hughes contracts offical

1 year agoThe Vancouver Canucks have made three and six-year deals for Elias Pettersson and Quinn Hughes, respectively, official.
Pettersson will earn an AAV of $7.35-million, while Hughes will earn $7.85-million and neither deal carries trade protection.
Here’s the breakdown of the contracts, according to PuckPedia.
Pettersson
Year 1 – $3-million salary, $1-million signing bonus
Year 2 – $7.8-million salary
Year 3 – $10.25-million
Year 2 – $7.8-million salary
Year 3 – $10.25-million
Upon expiration of the deal, Pettersson will be an RFA with arbitration rights one year away from unrestricted free agency. His qualifying offer will be $8.82-million.
Hughes
Year 1 – $4-million salary
Year 2 – $6.5-million salary
Year 3 – $8.6-million salary
Year 4 – $9.5-million salary
Year 5 – $10.25-million Salary
Year 6 – $8.25-million salary
Year 2 – $6.5-million salary
Year 3 – $8.6-million salary
Year 4 – $9.5-million salary
Year 5 – $10.25-million Salary
Year 6 – $8.25-million salary
The deal buys one year of free agency.
