The Utica Comets announced today that they had signed forward Zac Lynch to a PTO, (professional try-out), deal.
The 25-year-old Lynch is an undrafted C/RW who stands 6′ tall and weighs in at 180 lbs. Lynch has previously played in the AHL in parts of two seasons split between the Portland Pirates in the 2015/16 season, and the Springfield Thunderbirds in the 2016/17 season. During those stints, he put up three goals and two assists, good for five points in 28 games. He has also played in 89 ECHL games over two seasons, including this one, with the Manchester Monarchs. Lynch has put up 40 goals and 39 assists over those 89 games to give him 79 points during that span. He has put up 45 of those points in 55 games this season.
Lynch isn’t the first Monarch to get the call to Utica this season, as Joel Lowry and Tony Cameranesi were both signed off the Manchester roster.
The Comets are back in action tomorrow, (Friday, March 2nd) at 4:00 pm Pacific when the Belleville Senators come to town for the first of three games in three days for the Comets. CanucksArmy will have your post-game report following the game.
