One of the most important players in Vancouver Canucks history joined the club 14 years ago today.
It was Dave Nonis who concocted what was undoubtedly the most important deal he made as GM. Along with Luongo, the Canucks acquired Lukas Krajicek and a 2006 6th round pick giving up Bryan Allen, Alex Auld and Todd Bertuzzi.
The trade was wildly important for the Canucks organization. Luongo was a staple for the club in net winning 252 of the 448 games he played during his time.
His .919 save percentage ranks among the best in league history and his 489 career wins rank third all-time. His legacy in Vancouver still stands as Luongo was a key cog in the teams deep 2011 playoff run.
There he started all 25 games posting a .914 save percentage.
What are your favourite memories of Luongo in the Canucks net?
