Welcome back to another edition of Throwback Thursday!
This week in 1988 (Oct. 18), Trevor Linden scored his first-ever goal in the NHL. The goal came in Linden’s seventh game which ended up being a 3-2 loss to the New York Islanders.
Linden scored at the 7:40 mark of the first period on a goal assisted by Doug Lidster and Tony Tanti. He went on a tear the rest of the way scoring 30 goals and 59 points as he finished second in voting for the Calder trophy.
He ended up scoring 375 goals — 119 of which came on the powerplay — before retiring in 2008.
