Welcome back to another edition of Throwback Thursday!
This week in 1981 (June 10), the Vancouver Canucks drafted Petri Skriko in the 8th round of the draft.
Skriko took a few years to join the Canucks but did not disappoint. In his rookie year in 1984-85, he scored 21 goals and 35 points in 72 games.
In each of the next four seasons, Skriko scored at least 30 goals for the Canucks with his lowest point total being 64 points.
He had a down year in 1989-90 scoring only 15 goals nad 48 points, and a year later was traded. On January 16th, 1991, the Canucks traded Skriko to the Boston Bruins in exchange for a 2nd round pick in 1992.
Vancouver selected Michael Peca with the pick.
Skriko, meanwhile, bounced between the Bruins, Jets and Sharks before stepping away from the game in 1992-93.
Over his seven year career with the Canucks, he amassed 171 goals and 373 points in 472 games.
