It looks like the Vancouver Canucks may be getting Jack Rathbone signed by a Wednesday 2 p.m. deadline.
The team has nearly a day left to sign Rathbone, the clubs top defensive prospect, to an entry-level contract.
Initially reported by Rick Dhaliwal, Rathbone hasn’t officially made a decision on signing or not, but The Athletic’s Thomas Drance said the Canucks are confident on being able to get him signed. Dhaliwal later confirmed Drance’s report.
Rathbone, 20, was drafted by the Canucks in the fourth round of the 2017 draft and has been playing the last two seasons for Harvard University for the last two years. There, the left-shot defenceman has scored 14 goals and 53 assists in 61 NCAA games.
