Richard Bachman placed on waivers

The NHL’s waiver wire opened up this morning, and as such, teams began to make the types of cuts that put their under-contract players at risk. The Vancouver Canucks were one of the first teams to take the plunge, putting Richard Bachman up for temporary grabs.

Bachman looked good in his one appearance, stopping every puck that came his way in the latter half of the Kraft Hockeyville game against the San Jose Sharks. With that said, the Canucks were never truly in the cards for him; he’s expected to split time with Joe Cannata as a member of the Utica Comets. 

Of course, another NHL team could put in a claim before noon tomorrow. But if that does happen, it might be for the best; do the Canucks really want a goaltender who still thinks that he’s an Edmonton Oiler?
