The NHL might just be able to pull this off.
As teams arrive in the Edmonton and Toronto bubbles, the NHL announced this morning that there were no new cases of Covid-19 among their players.
Here is the statement the league put out on their Public Relations Twitter account:
This can only be viewed as extremely good news for the league and their return to play efforts, as players are getting set to play in their first exhibition games as early as tomorrow.
The Canucks practiced earlier this afternoon, and nobody who travelled with the team was deemed unfit to play today.
The Canucks will take on the Winnipeg Jets on Wednesday, July 29th in their lone exhibition game before game one of the play-in series against the Minnesota Wild on Sunday night. Puck drop is at 7:30 PM from Rogers Place in Edmonton.
