Nation Network Radio is back for another week with the usual suspects, J.D. Burke and TSN’s own Jon Abbott to tee up a number of Canucks’ topics ahead of the final game of the season, Saturday’s 3-2 shootout loss to the Edmonton Oilers.
Don’t settle for nosebleeds! Always get a front row seat at Shark Club, your only destination for pre-game, post-game… every game! Located just minutes away from Rogers Arena at the corner of Georgia and Beatty, come eat, drink and talk a bit of trash. Learn more at www.sharkclub.com.

In the first hour of the show, Abbott and Burke reflect on the horrifying news out of Saskatchewan, where the SJHL’s Humboldt Broncos were involved in a collision with a semi-truck. The hockey world is shaken by this development, and our two hosts do their best to pay their respects to everyone affected by this awful tragedy.
In the second segment, though, they take a brief break to host the new Nation Network Editor in Chief, Cam Lewis, to talk about the Edmonton Oilers ahead of Saturday’s game. Lewis talks about the lasting impact the Sedins had on Edmonton in all those years where they just dominated them, and how the city will receive them in the last NHL game of their career. Before Lewis leaves, he promotes the shirt that the Nation Network is selling on Oilers Nation in an effort to raise funds for everyone affected by Friday’s events. You can find these shirts in the tweet below.
In the second hour of the show, our hosts continue to try their best to bring updates, including audio from those hit hardest by the Humboldt accident. Eventually, though, they do their best to get back to the Canucks. The youngsters come into focus, and it’s Nikolay Goldobin and Jake Virtanen who are put into focus. The question of the day? Which is the better asset to the Vancouver Canucks?
