Jason Botchford of the Province reported some concerning injury news about 2009 2nd round pick Anton Rodin. Apparently the speedy winger had a case of "nagging, chronic shoulder tendinitis" that was "so bad in parts of last season [he] couldn’t shoot." There is no timetable on his return, and his ability to play in the AHL this upcoming season is in doubt at the moment. My take: a speedster, who can’t shoot – sounds like an ideal line-mate for Ryan Kesler.

From the Province’s Jim Jamieson – Canucks 2011 first round pick Nicklas Jensen idolized Jaromir Jagr growing up, and looks forward to living in Vancouver, and using his size to his advantage in the big-league. Hopefully that will quiet the "LOL Jensen’s favorite player is Peter Regin" crowd.

The Canadian Press profiles Justin (son of Geoff) Courtnall’s attempt to impress at the Canucks development camp. Fun Fact: until reading this piece, I hadn’t realized that Gillis was Geoff Courtnall’s agent.

Richard Loat (who you may know better as "Mozy19") returns to the old stomping grounds with his FiveHoleForFood team. Their Vancouver road-hockey event runs tomorrow from noon to 6PM on the 800 block of Granville Street. It’s a cool idea, a great cause and the events look like a lot of fun, so make sure to attend, and bring canned food! Of course, if you can’t attend, you can still go donate at their website.
