Vancouver Canucks G Jacob Markstrom has been added to the NHL all-star game, the league announced Friday.
Markstrom, 29, was selected to replace Marc-Andre Fleury of the Vegas Golden Knights in the Pacific Division.
The Swedish netminder joins fellow countryman and teammate Elias Pettersson, who was named to the team on Dec. 30.
Markstrom has played in 28 games for the Canucks this season posting a record of 14-11-3, a .917 save percentage and a 2.72 GAA. This year marks the first since 2012 that Vancouver sent two or more players to the all-star game when Daniel and Henrik Sedin joined Alex Edler for the weekend festivities.
The sixth-goaltender in Canucks history to be named to the all-star game, Markstrom is the first to be named since Roberto Luongo in 2009.
The NHL all-star weekend kicks off Jan. 24 at 6 p.m. PST with the all-star skills competition, followed by a 3-on-3 tournament Jan. 25 at 5 p.m. PST.
