On today’s episode of Canucks Conversation, Chris Faber and David Quadrelli were joined by Daily Faceoff’s Frank Seravalli to talk about all the latest surrounding the Vancouver Canucks.
It was the debut of the new-look layout, which Quads wrote about earlier today in a bit of an “introduction to Canucks Conversation” piece.
The guys broke down further what Rick Tocchet and the Canucks’ “by committee” defence might look like. More specifically, what it means for Quinn Hughes and Filip Hronek. Quads talked about how he thinks an irregular or inexperienced partner lining up with Hughes on the lineup sheet will mean less penalty killing time for Hughes, and more ice time with Hronek and maybe even Tyler Myers at five on five.
You can read more about what Tocchet had to say about how the Canucks will line up defensively by reading yesterday’s edition of Scenes from Canucks practice by clicking here.
Later, in the segment with Seravalli, the guys briefly talked about the MLB postseason kicking off, Seravalli’s ballpark tour with his son, and of course, everything Canucks. They spoke extensively about Seravalli’s interviews with Rick Tocchet, Ian Cole, and Thatcher Demko on his podcast Frankly Speaking, where Tocchet shared the story of needing to be calmed down by his assistant coaches after just his second game behind the Canucks’ bench.
Seravalli talked about how interesting he found Ian Cole to talk to, and how Cole broke down his 9-year streak of qualifying for the NHL playoffs.
