Daily Faceoff’s Frank Seravalli joined Chris Faber and I for Wednesday’s edition of Canucks Conversation. It was a busy show as we broke down Arturs Silovs’ impressive showing at the IIHF World Championship with Team Latvia, Jett Woo’s new contract, and more.
During his near-20 minute hit, Seravalli spoke about his repeated reporting that the cap could be going up $3-4 million, but explained why the NHL might not allow that to happen. Seravalli also talked about how it’s still certainly possible that the Canucks trade JT Miller before his seven-year contract extension kicks in. He pointed to the weak free agent crop as his reason why he thinks at least one team is going to be interested in trading for Miller ahead of July 1st.
Additionally, Seravalli gave his take on why the Canucks shouldn’t be looking at moving out the 11th overall pick at the 2023 NHL Entry Draft, why an Oliver Ekman-Larsson buyout is unlikely, and more.
