The Utica Comets announced today that they have added two more players on PTO deals. Forward David Dziurzynski and defenseman Adam Comrie are the latest to get a look from the Comets.
Dziurzynski is an undrafted, 6’3″, 218lbs left winger. The 28-year-old has played in 26 NHL games with the Ottawa Senators, split between the 2012/13 and 2015/16 seasons. During those 26 games, Dziurzynski put up three goals and three assists, to go along with 22 penalty minutes. He has played 351 games in the AHL with the Binghamton Senators, picking up 46 goals and 81 assists, to give him 127 points to go along with 502 penalty minutes. Dziurzynski has been playing with the Florida Everblades of the ECHL this season. In 19 games with the Everblades, he has registered two goals and one assist to go along with 21 minutes in the penalty box.
Adam Comrie is a 6’4″, 219lbs, left shot defenseman. The 27-year-old was drafted in the third round, 80th overall by the Florida Panthers in the 2008 NHL draft. Comrie has bounced between the AHL and ECHL since the 2010/11 season. He has split this season between the Reading Royals of the ECHL and the Lehigh Valley Phantoms of the AHL. In 14 games with the Royals, Comrie has put up four points and 59 minutes in the penalty box. In 10 games with the Phantoms, he has put up three points and 12 penalty minutes.
*Update… Sarah Hobday has informed me that Comrie has spent time with Utica on a PTO previously.  Comrie was with Utica on a PTO during the 2014 preseason. Sarah took this photo of Comrie during a Comets/Penguins game on October 1st, 2014. For the record, the Comets lost that game 4-2.

The Comets currently have Reid Boucher and Nikolay Goldobin recalled to Vancouver, as well as an injury list as long as my arm. This situation has the Comets using a pile of try-out players this season. Utica currently has defensemen Cliff Watson, Dylan Blujus, and Adam Comrie in town on try-outs, to go along with the recalled Anton Cederholm. Up front, they currently have Vincent Arseneau, Brady Brassart, Tony Cameranesi, and Dziurzynski in town on PTOs to go along with the called up Danny Moynihan.
The Comets are back in action today at 4:00 pm Pacific when they take on the visiting Providence Bruins. CanucksArmy will have your post-game report following the game.
