The Comets are bringing David Dziurzynski back on a PTO, (professional tryout deal) and this time he has company as they have also signed forward Justin Taylor to a PTO deal.
Taylor is a 5’10”, 180lbs pivot who was drafted in the sixth round of the 2007 NHL Entry Draft by the Washington Capitals. The 29-year-old has been playing in the ECHL with the Kalamazoo Wings, Trenton Titans, and Idaho Steelheads since the 2010/11 season. He also played 15 games in the AHL with the Bridgeport Sound Tigers in the 2010/11 season.
This season, Taylor has played in 44 games with Kalamazoo, picking up 25 goals and 18 assists to give him 43 points to go with 49 minutes spent in the sin bin.
Dziurzynski has already had a stint with the Comets this season, playing in 13 games and picking up two assists and eight penalty minutes. He brought a much needed physical presence to the Comets lineup, and that will be all the more important now with Darren Archibald called up to Vancouver.
The Comets are back in action today at 4:00 when the Laval Rocket come to town. CanucksArmy will have your post-game report following the game.
