Comets Add Forward Tony Cameranesi On PTO

For the second time in as many days, the Utica Comets have reached into the ECHL and plucked a player to help them get through injuries and call-ups. As per the ECHL Transactions page today, it was forward Tony Cameranesi who was the latest player signed to a professional try-out contract by the Comets.
Cameranesi is a 5’10”, 190lbs centerman who was drafted in the 5th round, 130th overall in the 2011 NHL entry draft by the Toronto Maple Leafs. The 24-year-old has played a total of 37 AHL games over parts of two seasons with the Toronto Marlies. In those 37 games, he scored six goals and collected three assists, good for nine points.
Cameranesi has also played parts of the last two seasons in the ECHL, splitting time between the Orlando Solar Bears, and this season with the Manchester Monarchs. In 63 career ECHL games, Cameranesi has accumulated 19 goals and 27 assists, good for 48 points. This season, he has four goals and 14 assists in 20 games with Manchester.
The Comets will be back in action on Friday, December 15th vs the Binghamton Devils at 4:00 pm Pacific. CanucksArmy will have your post-game report following the game.
