Canucks Player Power Rankings – January 16th, 2017

The Canucks have not lost in regulation this week, but they also have not won this week. Kings of the loser points, they’re trying their hardest and getting mediocre results. Find out how this collection of average guys ranks below the cut.
1. Brandon Sutter:
Brandon Sutter had a nice week, earning the Canucks a loser point with his late goal in Nashville. Brandon gets to be #1 on the power rankings this week because he stayed so positive despite getting absolutely roasted for his questionable goal song.

2. Markus Granlund:
Markus Granlund scored twice in Philly and Hunter Shinkaruk has never done that. Maybe this one will turn out ok.
3. Loui Eriksson:
Loui Eriksson and the Sedins is the combination that the world deserves (at least in the absence of Jannik Hansen).
4. Bo Horvat:
Remember the days when we were concerned about Horvat’s skating? Look at the little guy go.
5. Ryan Miller and Jacob Markstrom:
Neither of these guys won this week, but neither of them lost in regulation. They’re doing what they can for this team.
6. Henrik Sedin:
Henrik Sedin is 2 points from reaching 1000 in his career. He’s taking his time, but I’m feeling him this week. He’ll be #1 by next Monday.
7. Daniel Sedin:
The Canucks have a terrible power play but Daniel Sedin scored a power play goal this week. Very impressive.
8. Alex Burrows:
Alex Burrows is still out here having a nice season with his youthful friends. Keep it up, Burrows.
9. Sven Baertschi:
Sven Baertschi did exactly what you need to to do win in OT but it all went wrong for him. Don’t change, Sven.
10. Alex Edler:
Alex Edler must be so, so tired.
11. Luca Sbisa:
Luca Sbisa returned to Philadelphia this week, much to Philadelphia’s surprise.
12. Chris Tanev:
Chris Tanev is so defensively minded he’s basically a goalie. Here he is demonstrating that:
13. Troy Stecher:
Troy Stecher felt awful after the loss in Nashville, but hopefully he can take comfort in the fact that he’s still a very good hockey player and definitely has the most beautiful signature I’ve ever seen from a professional athlete.
14. Nikita Tryamkin:
The big guy has his fair share of great moments and his fair share of gaffes, which is to be expected. Seeing his giant limbs effortlessly drop opponents will never not be hilarious.
15. Jayson Megna:
Where do we even start with this?
16. Michael Chaput and the thousands of people who now have Michael Chaput posters to put up on their wall:
He’s made it!
17. Jack Skille:
At the end of the day he could be doing a lot worse.
18. Brendan Gaunce:
Brendan Gaunce still has not scored a goal, but he’s interacting with vaguely famous Canadians on Twitter, so he’s got that going for him.
19. Alex Biega:
Alex Biega got more game action this week and I’m happy for him.
20. Jannik Hansen, Derek Dorsett, Ben Hutton, Erik Gudbranson, and Philip Larsen:
The gang of injured guys has grown this week, as Ben Hutton has been placed on the injured reserve. He’s well enough to hug fans at least!
21. Reid Boucher:
We have yet to see Reid Boucher play for the Canucks, but maybe one day soon we will.
22. Anton Rodin:
At this point, who knows?
