Liquor Depot. Best Selection. Best Prices.
In the final game before the NHL All-Star break, the Canucks travel to Arizona to take on the Coyotes. The Canucks have a lot to be excited about after a big win in Colorado last night and there’s a good chance they carry that over to tonight’s game.
I don’t know how they’re doing it exactly but the Canucks are impressing people and they’re in the playoffs. It’s weird, accept it.
LINE COMBOS
No changes as far as we know. Sorry, Jordan Subban.
Ryan Miller gets the start tonight after Jacob Markstrom took on the Avalanche yesterday.

Tobias Rieder will be in his 200th NHL game. That’s about it. The Coyotes are bad and honestly, if they turned on the line blender it would get more publication.
Mike Smith should get the start. I’m sure he’s not thrilled.

GAME NOTES, STATS AND OTHER INTERESTING INFO
- What happens if Markus Granlund is exposed to the Vegas Golden Knights? He is on a tear as of late with 5 goals and 1 assist in his last 10 games. Mix in a power play goal and a game winner and Markus Granlund is basically the Canucks 2nd All-Star nomination.
- Nikita Tryamkin accidentally put Brad Richardson on extended IR back in November with a crazy leg injury but with his newly revealed slap shot, we have all seen what could be the beginning of a lot of goals from the blue line. It’s way too early to say he’s any kind of super star but Alex Edler had a similar start with his shot and he did ok.
- If Alex Edler is nursing some kind of shoulder injury, it might be a good idea to lower his ice time a smidge. As of today, Edler sits 8th in the NHL in TOI/GM with 25:46. Crazy to think maybe Jordan Subban could use a game or let the Tanev pair see a few extra shifts.
- Since Christmas Day, Henrik Sedin isn’t just collecting milestones, he’s winning games. Henrik is tied for 2nd with 3 GWG. Tough to say if he gets his 4th tonight but it’s safe to say someone in a Canucks jersey will.
- The Canucks are in the 2nd Wildcard spot. Cherish this deeply.
WHAT THEY’RE SAYING
I could get used to this. Might not get to but all I said was that I could.
MY TAKE
After a great game last night, I think the Canucks continue the streak (1 game) against the basement dwellers and go into the All Star break on a high note. Bo Horvat doesn’t NEED to show off before the big event but another razzle-dazzle wouldn’t hurt. Canucks in regulation.
DOES WILLIE DESJARDINS REALIZE WHAT HE HAS IN NIKITA TRYAMKIN?
As Tryamkin progresses more and more, he makes other defensemen expendable. He won’t take Alex Edler’s spot or Chris Tanev’s but Erik Gudbranson, unfortunately, had an injury that may boot him out of town. Luca Sbisa faces a Las Vegas franchise that will need players just like him. Nikita has some raw talent and a Sami Salo like shot. How he isn’t on the top power play or given more of a chance to score is not his fault. Willie needs to start seeing what he actually has in Vancouver.
