Bruce Boudreau is known for a lot of things.
Being a good coach, turning the Vancouver Canucks around last season, and being one of the overall better characters in the game of hockey.
And now, you can add 16th-most handsome NHL head coach to that list.
What are we talking about, you ask?
A report by gambling.com ranked all 32 NHL head coaches based on results provided by a beauty measuring app called Golden Ratio Face.
The app, which is free to download, uses facial symmetry and facial structure to calculate beauty by assigning a score out of 10. Gambling.com says it used portraits from the official NHL website in conjunction with the app to compile the list, rounding decimals up or down to “ensure consistency.”
According to the beauty-symmetry algorithm on the app, Edmonton Oilers head coach Jay Woodcroft’s face has everything a robot could look for, as his features lined up almost perfectly with the specifications listed within the program — which is why he ranks first overall with a score of 9.18 out of 10.
As you can see, Vancouver Canucks head coach Bruce Boudreau came in at number 16 on the list with a score of 8.06.
Today at Canucks practice, Boudreau was informed about the report and asked about his ranking, and had an absolutely priceless response:
“Oh my god, I don’t want to be in that poll,” said Boudreau when he was told about the premise of the report.
“There must have been an awful lot of blind people doing that poll!” said Boudreau with a laugh when he was informed of his ranking on the list.
Boudreau declined to comment on who the most handsome and ugliest coach in the league are, but added that he knows who it really is.
As for the other NHL coaches, Washington Capitals head coach Peter Laviolette scored the lowest with a 6.04, trailing Jim Montgomery of the Bruins by a 0.53 margin.
