Brock Boeser to miss World Juniors due to wrist surgery

When it rains, it pours for the Canucks.
After a disappointing loss last night, it was revealed by the University of North Dakota that Canucks prospect Brock Boeser would miss the World Juniors due to surgery on his right wrist.
Boeser had missed the previous five games for UND due to the nagging injury, which in the above article reveals was something that had been ailing the forward throughout the entire season.
The Canucks prospect is expected out until January.
From a Canucks perspective, this is an unfortunate development as many fans were excited to see Boeser play a big role for Team USA and the WJHC in two weeks. He was expected to play a big role for the U.S., but will now have to watch from the sidelines.
After a hot start to the season, Boeser was limited to four points in his last eight games – so the news of this being a nagging ailment does at least shed some light into why he was struggling. Ideally, the surgery will correct the issue and Boeser will get back going.
At this moment, with Brock Boeser being unable to suit up, the Canucks can only have three representatives at the WJHC in Olli Juolevi (Finland), Lukas Jasek (Czech Republic) and Guillaume Brisebois (Canada)
