This afternoon, @Bo Horvat, @Elias Pettersson, and @Tyler Myers have all issued short videos to Canucks fans from their respective homes, offering a message of gratitude while also preaching the importance of social distancing and how we all need to watch out for each other during the COVID-19 pandemic.
From the video compilation:
“It sucks not to be playing right not but this is bigger than hockey, at this point. Hopefully, we can get back on the ice soon, but I want everyone to stay safe and make sure to wash your hands and stay indoors. Hopefully, we can get back on the ice soon — we miss you guys.” -Horvat
“Hopefully, everyone is doing good and staying healthy. It sucks that we can’t play hockey now but health comes first and this thing is bigger than hockey so it’s important that everyone is doing their part by washing their hands. If you’re not feeling well, stay home. Remember to take care of each other and stay safe.” -Pettersson
“I just want to say that I hope everyone is staying safe through this tough time. Enjoy the time at home with your family. Stay at home, stay inside, and I think if we take all of the necessary steps that the CDC is recommending then we can get ahead of this thing and get back to living our normal lives. I hope everyone is doing well.” -Myers
The Canucks trio join the ever-growing list of NHLers such as Connor McDavid, Blake Wheeler, Mikael Backlund, @Jack Eichel, @Nico Hischier, @Rasmus Dahlin, and @Jonathan Bernier who have made similar statements and used their social channels to encourage fans to practice social distancing as much as possible during this time.
