After a one week break, mostly because nothing happened, the CanucksArmy Prospect Report is back.
Unfortunately, there still isn’t a lot going on as some leagues get going this week and others are still wading through the pre-season. But we are back to break down the week that was for Canucks Prospects around the globe.

Canada

  • Michael DiPietro is on his way back to the OHL but isn’t expected to suit up for the Spitfires season opener later today. He appeared in one pre-season game for the Canucks, that saw him not allow a goal in 20 minutes of play.
  • Jett Woo is still recovering from the minor surgery that kept him out of Young Stars. He is expected to return to the Moose Jaw lineup in October.

United States

  • The NCAA pre-seasons get going this weekend (to some degree) – Harvard (Jack Rathbone) will take on the USNDTP U18 team on Saturday.
  • Matthew Thiessen has appeared in 61 minutes of pre-season action for Dubuque (USHL) – he hasn’t allowed a goal. They play again tomorrow night.

Russia

  • Artyom Manukyan has hit a bit of a wall since an impressive start to his KHL career. Despite being a regular on the second line, he has posted two assists in the four games since our last update. He just hasn’t been able to generate chances like he did in the first few games. With that being said, the season is just getting going and he has been doing quite a few things well.
  • Nikita Tryamkin picked up one assist over the three games that Avtomobilist played the last two weeks. He is still a mainstay for them on the backend. He is averaging 21:49 of ice-time.
  • Dmitry Zhukenov has only appeared in one game in the MHL.

Finland

  • Toni Utunen has played in two CHL games over the last two week and three Liiga games over the past two weeks in a 7th defenceman role. He has been playing well despite the limited ice-time.\

The AHL

In case you missed it, the Canucks sent a bunch of players on AHL deals to the Comets (and Michael Carcone)
They have some pre-season games next weekend.
