Last week’s Blackfish generated a lot of conversation in the comments section – which is a good thing!
This week, Kole Lind’s point streak comes to an end, while another prospect appears to have suffered a back injury. A late round defensive prospect continues to put up numbers.
On the other side of the pond, Elias Pettersson continues to play centre as Vaxjo turns their attention to the SHL title.
All that and more in this week’s edition of Blackfish
All the images of stats are from Elite Prospects.

CANADIAN HOCKEY LEAGUE

Western Hockey League

  • Kole Lind’s point streak ended on Saturday night, as he failed to register a point against the Everett Silvertips. His point streak was 20 games, during which time he posted 15 goals and 23 assists. He has failed to register a point in 5 contests this year. Luckily, he put up 1 goal and 1 assist last night against the Giants. In three games this week, he had one goal and three assists.
  • Jakub Stukel picked up two goals in three games this week – at the very least, he has been consistent in putting the puck in the back of the net.

Ontario Hockey League

alt
  • Defenceman Matt Brassard continues his torrid pace – putting up two goals and three assists in 4 games this past week. He has 30 points in his 28 games. Something switched at the 20 game mark and he hasn’t looked back. With that being said, there isn’t a high ceiling for him. Relative to his draft position, he’s looked like a good pick.
  • Brett McKenzie continues to carve out a good role with the Owen Sound Attack – he had one goal and two assists in two games this past week.
  • Unfortuantely, Jonah Gadjovich appears to have suffered an injury this past week:
  • It’s unfortunate, as he was just started to get his feet back under him with one goal and two assists in two games.
  • Cole Candella scored one goal in his only game this past week.

  • Another week of 0-2-0 for DiPietro – but it isn’t his fault. This was expected after the Spitfires traded away the majority of their top players.

NCAA

alt
  • Adam Gaudette was named the NCAA Player of the Month this past week. He followed that up with one goal and two assists in two games this past week. Northeastern beat Boston College in the Beanpot Semi-finals, they will face Boston University in the finals on Monday.
  • William Lockwood’s season is done due to injury.

USHS

  • Thanks to the help of some other people – I have been able to find a site that does regularly keep up with Dexter School scoring. Which means I can provide some update on Rathbone. He has 5 goals and 14 assists in 10 games with Dexter this season. From what I deduce, he had 2 goals and 1 assist in the one game since last Thursday. With that being said, it relies on the sheets being submitted by the schools, so there could be some delay or missed games.

EUROPE

Sweden

alt
  • Over the past week – Pettersson had one goal and two assists in his one SHL contest. He was held off the scoresheet in the Champions Hockey League finals against JYP (SM Liiga), as Vaxjo lost 2-0. They play at 10 am PT today.
  • Rodrigo Abols is on loan to BIK Karlskoga in Allsvenskan.
  • Another week and no points for Gunnarsson.
alt
  • Jonathan Dahlen was held off the scoresheet for another week – as he failed to register a point in two games.
  • Rodrigo Abols had himself a decent week with three assists in two games.

Finland

alt
  • Petrus Palmu was held off the scoresheet in TPS one game this week
  • Same for Juolevi, zero points in his only game.

Russia

alt
  • Nikita Tryamkin did not play any games this past week
  • Same for Zhukenov – but he does have 7 goals and 12 assists in 23 MHL games.

Czech Republic

alt
  • Lukas Jasek’s was held off the scoresheet in all three games this past week.
