Welcome back to Betway Bets of the Day brought to you by NHL betting odds site Betway!
Two shorthanded goals in a span of 44 seconds helped the Canucks to a 4–1 win over the Toronto Maple Leafs on Saturday. Thacher Demko stopped 36 of 37 shots and looks to be back in vintage form.
Next up for the Canucks is a matchup with the hot Nashville Predators who have won five of their last six games. Here are three bets I like for tonight’s game.
Player Prop #1
Roman Josi to register over 3.5 shots at -150. My $10 bet would return $16.66.
Things haven’t changed for Josi. He still leads all defenders in the league in shots by a decent margin and had six shots in his last matchup with the Canucks two weeks ago. I like his over again tonight.
Player Prop #2
J.T. Miller to register over 2.5 shots at -175. My $10 bet would return $15.71.
Miller has shot the puck more since Horvat’s departure, he has hit his over 2.5 in nine of his last 11 games.
We usually like Pettersson for Canucks players shot props, but the bookies have moved his line to 3.5 and I feel more confident with Miller at 2.5 based on his recent stretch of games.
Money-Line
Nashville to win the money-line at -112. My $10 bet would return $19.
Nashville has won 5 out of 6 and are still in the playoff race, because if they win their games in hand on the Jets they’ll be tied with them in points.
Nashville has also beaten Vancouver both times they’ve played this season. I like the Preds here despite Vancouver’s recent strong showings.
Last Game Bets
Mitch Marner to register over 2.5 shots at -125. My $10 bet would return $18.00. – MISSED
Auston Matthews to score a power play point at +140. My $10 bet would return $24. – MISSED
The game to end with over 6.5 goals at -134. My $10 bet would return $17.50. – MISSED
We’re losing some ground here, Matthews got injured halfway through the game and Demko was a brick wall. We’re still up $98.52 on the year, but things have been relatively poor recently. That all changes tonight.
