Welcome back to Betway Bets of the Day brought to you by NHL betting odds site Betway!
On Thursday, the Vancouver Canucks extended their point streak to seven games despite a 4-3 overtime loss to the Dallas Stars. The Canucks’ third line continued to impress, as both Conor Garland and Dakota Joshua found the back of the net in the losing effort.
The Canucks return home before Christmas for a matchup with the San Jose Sharks. Here are three bets I like for tonight’s game.

Player Prop

Brock Boeser to register over 2.5 shots at -175. My $12.50 bet would return $19.64.
Boeser has excelled in all capacities this season and has continued to be red hot, scoring six goals in his past six games. The Canucks marksman has also hit his over in shots in all six of those outings, registering 24 shots in that span, an average of four per game.
I like this trend to continue against a Sharks team that gives up the most shots in the NHL. This is a full unit play.

Player Prop

Quinn Hughes to score a power-play point at +120. My $10 bet would return $22.
Vancouver’s power-play has struggled of late, including their quarterback Hughes, who has registered just one point with the man advantage in his last six. This is a perfect spot for the team and Hughes to buck the trend. Vancouver’s captain has tallied three power-play points in three matchups against San Jose this season.
I like this play at .8 units.

Main Markets

Vancouver to win by over 1.5 goals at -120. My $12.50 bet would return $22.91.
Yes, we all know about Vancouver’s infamous 10-1 blowout of the Sharks earlier this season, but this is not the same Sharks team on pace for the worst regular season record of all time. San Jose has treaded water of late, going 4-5-1 in their past ten and even defeated the Canucks in their last matchup.
I expect a close game, with the Canucks pulling away late due to their high end talent and incredible home ice advantage. Take Vancouver at the 1.5 spread here for a full unit.

Last Game Bets

Elias Pettersson to register over 2.5 shots at -160. My $12.5o bet would return $20.31.  MISSED
Pius Suter to score anytime at +300. My $6.25 bet would return $25. – MISSED
Dallas to win money-line at -135. My $1o bet would return $17.40. – HIT
A small losing night from us, we staked $28.75 and returned $17.40. We are now up $133.33 on the season.
