Betway Bets of the Day: Duck hunting season for struggling Canucks

6 months agoWelcome back to Betway Bets of the Day brought to you by NHL Lines site Betway!
The winning was nice while it lasted in Canucks land, but a reality check against the surging New Jersey Devils has the Canucks again searching for answers. A matchup with the fellow basement-dwelling Anaheim Ducks is up next, here are three bets to keep your eyes on.
Easy Money
The Vancouver Canucks to finish with 33 shots or more at -118. My $10 bet would return $18.50.
The Ducks allow a league-worst 37.9 shots against per game. Factor that in with a desperate Canucks hockey team, I see an easy path to 33 for Vancouver.
Player Prop
Elias Pettersson to register over 2.5 shots at -163. My $10 bet would return $16.15.
As you’re probably noticing this is the staple bet for us.
Pettersson was on a run where he hit his over 2.5 in 12 straight games dating back to last year. He’s been struggling to get pucks on net recently but a date with the worst shot suppressing team in the league should do wonders.
Hunch of the Day:
Quinn Hughes to register a power play point at +105. My $10 bet would return $20.50.
The one positive for the Canucks this season has been their power play, they currently rank 4th in the NHL in PP%.
Quinn Hughes is the quarterback of the Canucks PP and finished the 2021/2022 season ranked 5th among all defenders in PP points, I like him here against a struggling Ducks PK which ranks 31st in the NHL.
Last Game Bets
Dougie Hamilton to register over 2.5 shots at -175. My $10 bet would return 15.71. – HIT
The New Jersey Devils to finish with over 35 shots at -118. My $10 bet would return $18.50. – HIT
The Vancouver Canucks to win moneyline and the game to finish with under 6.5 goals at +270. My $5 bet would return $18.50. – MISSED
Altogether not a bad night on the scorecards for us, we staked $25 and returned $34.21, which would put us up almost a full unit. Our total for the year now is down $21.45.
