Welcome back to Betway Bets of the Day brought to you by NHL Lines site Betway!
The Vancouver Canucks won another hockey game, this time in impressive fashion over the Pittsburgh Penguins. For Vancouver, a matchup against the surging New Jersey Devils is next. Here are three bets to look at for tonight’s tilt.
Player Prop
Dougie Hamilton to register over 2.5 shots at -175. My $10 bet would return 15.71.
Hamilton’s 30 shots in 9 games (an average of 3.33 per game) rank him 6th among all defenders in the NHL.
Hamilton has hit his over 2.5 shots in 78% of Devils games this season and did so in both games against the Canucks last season, this looks like the best bet of the day.
Easy Money
The New Jersey Devils to finish with over 35 shots at -118. My $10 bet would return $18.50.
The Devils have been firing from all cylinders this season, their astonishing 39.3 shots per game rate ranks them number 1 in the NHL.
Risky Business
The Vancouver Canucks to win moneyline and the game to finish with under 6.5 goals at +270. My $5 bet would return $18.50.
This sounds like a trap, you may say, throughout this article you’ve sang the praise of the Devils and now you’re telling us to put money on the Canucks?
I’ve said this before and I am going to say it again until I’m right, Thacher Demko has yet to steal a game for the Canucks this season. I expect that to change starting tonight. Canucks get outshot pretty heavily and win.
Note we’re just going to sprinkle on this, I’m okay with putting half a unit.
Last Game’s Bets
Elias Pettersson to register over 2.5 shots at -150. My $10 bet would return $16.66.- MISSED
The game to finish with over 6.5 goals at -120. My $10 bet would return $18.32. – MISSED
Evgeni Malkin to register 2 or more points at +200. My $5 bet would return $15.00. – MISSED
So a great night for the Canucks, was not a great night for us. We came close on all but we’re in a bottom line business and last game’s bets weren’t good enough. We’re now down $30.66 on the year. Tonight we bounce back.
