Betway Bets of the Day: Bet on the home underdog Canucks against the Panthers
By Niqhil2 months ago
Welcome back to Betway Bets of the Day brought to you by NHL betting odds site Betway!
An impressive 4-1 win over the perennial powerhouse Tampa Bay Lightning improved the Canucks’ winning streak to three games. Brock Boeser earned first star honours for his impressive natural hat-trick to break the game open for Vancouver, and he also tied Auston Matthews for the lead league in goals with 21.
Next up for Vancouver is a matchup with the Florida Panthers on “Luongo night” as the team is set to induct the first ballot Hall of Famer in the ring of honour. Here are three bets I like for tonight’s game.
Tonight’s matchup will feature two of the premier two-way centres in the sport in Elias Pettersson and Florida’s Alex Barkov. Barkov has been absolutely incredible this season and is currently the favourite to win the Selke.
Barkov has also been very consistent on the shot meter, hitting his over 2.5 in five out of his last six games. I like him to do it again tonight and will play a full unit here.
Florida to score a power-play goal at -118. My $10 bet would return $18.50.
Florida is yet to find their stride on the power-play this season, ranking 20th in the league with the man advantage, but they have the fire power to breakout on any given night. I like them to pot one tonight at these odds against the 25th ranked Canucks penalty-kill.
I like this play at .8 units.
Vancouver to win money-line at +100. My $10 bet would return $20.
Vegas favours Florida here interestingly. Vancouver has the better record, has beaten the Panthers in their only matchup this season, and digging into home and road splits, Vancouver is 11-3-1 at home and Florida is 8-5-2 on the road. I like Vancouver here at .8 units.
Last Game Bets
Nikita Kucherov to score two or more points at +100. My $10 bet would return $20. – MISSED
Both teams to score over 6.5 goals at -115. My $10 bet would return $18.69. – MISSED
Quinn Hughes to register an assist at -167. My $12.50 bet would return $20. – HIT
Vancouver did a much better job containing the Lightning than I expected. We staked $32.50 and returned $20. We are now up $92.66 on the year.
