The Vancouver Canucks will look to book their tickets to the Western Conference Finals for the first time since 2011 and only the fourth time in franchise history in game six in Edmonton. Vancouver won game five as JT Miller cashed in after Elias Pettersson hit the post in the dying seconds of the third period. Rogers Arena erupted as the Canucks held on to take the game and series lead.
Despite a valiant effort from backup Calvin Pickard in game five, the Oilers will turn back to starter Stuart Skinner. Skinner has a 1-6 record against the Canucks this season, allowing more than three goals in six of seven games.
Today’s expected goaltender matchups for our highlighted game:
The Vancouver Canucks’ Arturs Silovs (3-0-1) vs. The Edmonton Oilers’ Stuart Skinner (36-15-2).

Connor McDavid to register over 3.5 shots at -105. My $10 bet would return $19.50

This is a legacy game for Connor McDavid. He’s been quiet in most of this series and if the Oilers lose to the heavy underdog Canucks with their third stringer in net, it could McDavid’s version of LeBron’s collapse vs the Dallas Mavericks in 2011.
I expect McDavid to come out firing tonight and the onus will be on Silovs to shut the door on him like he’s done most of the series. I will always be a narrative bettor and this is a huge one for this Oilers core, take this play at .8 units.

Quinn Hughes to register over 2.5 shots at +115. My $10 bet would return $21.50.

From one superstar captain to another, Quinn Hughes is starting to make his impact in a big way on this series and I expect nothing to change in a pivotal game six. Hughes registered four shots in game five and hit a crossbar, I like his shooting trend to continue.
Also take this play at .8 units.

Elias Pettersson to score a point at -135. My $12.50 bet would return $21.75.

Petey looked rejuvenated in game five. Finally moving away from Ilya Mikheyev and playing with top-six-level NHL talent looks to be the primary cause, but it wasn’t just that. He was handling the puck better through the neutral zone and getting more touches on the power play.
He was instrumental on the game-winner in game five and I really love him at these odds to get another point tonight, take this play at a full unit.

Last Game Bets

Elias Lindholm to register over 1.5 shots at -190. My $12.50 bet would return $19.07   – HIT
Elias Lindholm to score anytime at +300. My $10 bet would return $30 – MISSED
Quinn Hughes to register an assist at -135. My $10 bet would return $17.40.- MISSED
Was debating on a Lindholm goal or point, took the wrong one. We staked $32.5o and returned $19.07. We are now down $6.13 on the playoffs so far.
